Use AppGrowly in ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor
AppGrowly's free App Store and Google Play tools work inside AI assistants that support MCP (Model Context Protocol). Add one address, then ask in your own words.
https://appgrowly.com/mcp- No account and no API key: choose no authentication
- Read-only: it reads public store pages and can't change anything
- Each answer links to the full report on appgrowly.com
What you can ask
Problems in an App Store or Google Play listing that quietly cost downloads, each with its impact and a fix, plus the checks that passed.
- Check https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id… for problems that cost downloads.
- Is anything wrong with my Google Play listing? com.example.app
Where an app ranks today in store search for up to five terms in one country, with the top apps for each.
- Where does my app rank for “habit tracker” and “daily planner” in the UK?
- Do I rank higher than my competitors for “budget app”?
One search term's estimated popularity and difficulty, today's top 10 apps with their ratings, and related searches the store suggests.
- How hard is “plant care” to rank for on Google Play?
- Compare “sleep sounds” and “white noise” for my subtitle.
The title, subtitle, description, price and screenshot changes AppGrowly has recorded for an app, with dates, and its recent releases.
- What has this competitor changed in its listing lately?
- When did they last update the app, and what was in the release notes?
Add it to ChatGPT
- On chatgpt.com, open Plugins, choose + and then Add custom MCP server. If your account shows the older layout, go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode and choose Create app.
- Name it AppGrowly and enter
https://appgrowly.com/mcpas the server URL. - For authentication, choose none (no sign-in). Confirm the notice about custom servers and create it.
- In a new chat, type @ and pick AppGrowly (or add it from the + menu), then ask.
Custom MCP servers are on ChatGPT for the web, and whether you can add one depends on your plan and, in a workspace, on your admin. OpenAI renames these menus often: if yours look different, look for “custom MCP server” or “Developer mode” in settings.
Add it to Claude
- In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Enter
https://appgrowly.com/mcpas the server URL. Leave the OAuth settings empty: no sign-in is needed. - Choose Add. In a chat, open the + menu → Connectors to check AppGrowly is on, then ask.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds it in Organization settings → Connectors, and members then connect it from their own Connectors page. The Free plan allows one custom connector.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http appgrowly https://appgrowly.com/mcp
Cursor and other MCP clients
In Cursor, add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"appgrowly": {
"url": "https://appgrowly.com/mcp"
}
}
}In VS Code, run MCP: Add Server, choose HTTP and enter the URL. Any other client that supports Streamable HTTP connects with https://appgrowly.com/mcp and no authentication.
Good to know
Is it free?
Yes, and there's nothing to sign up for. To keep it fast for everyone, each person can make 20 tool calls an hour (in ChatGPT, per ChatGPT user; in other apps, per network), and there's an overall hourly limit. When a limit is reached, the assistant says when to try again.
What data does it use?
Public App Store and Google Play pages only: the same data as the free tools on this website. It never reads AppGrowly accounts, and never anything from App Store Connect, Google Play Console or Apple Ads connections.
What does AppGrowly see from my chat?
Only what the assistant sends to run a tool: the app link or search terms, and the address the request comes from, which is used for the limits. AppGrowly doesn't see the rest of your conversation. Like on the website, each lookup adds to AppGrowly's shared public store data, such as a snapshot of the listing you looked up.
Can it change anything?
No. Every tool only reads public store pages. It can't sign in to anything, edit a listing or reply to a review.
Which stores and countries?
The App Store and Google Play, in 15 countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, India, Brazil, Mexico, Ireland, New Zealand. Ranks on the App Store are for iPhone search.
AppGrowly tracks your keywords and competitors daily, alerts you when something changes, and measures whether your listing changes worked.
