Your keys and your data
Connecting App Store Connect, Google Play Console or Apple Ads means trusting AppGrowly with access to your account. Here's exactly what that access is used for, how it's protected, and how to take it back.
- Most of AppGrowly works without connecting anything.
- When you connect, AppGrowly reads. It only writes review replies you send, and switches on Apple's analytics reports once.
- Every key is encrypted with its own key and deleted the moment you disconnect.
- Your private numbers and keyword field are never shown to other customers or used to train AI.
- Delete your account and your workspace's data goes with it.
What each connection is used for
- Your listings, including the private keyword field
- Download, sales and proceeds reports
- Analytics reports: impressions, product page views, downloads by source
- Customer reviews and your replies
- A reply to a review, when you send it (or when you've turned on automatic replies for that app)
- Once: the request that switches on Apple's analytics reports for your apps
- Install and store-listing-visitor reports from your Play reports storage
- Reviews and your replies
- A reply to a review, when you send it (or when you've turned on automatic replies for that app)
- Campaign, keyword and search-term reports
- Nothing. AppGrowly never changes campaigns, bids or budgets; you make changes in Apple Ads.
Do I have to connect anything?
No. Keyword research, daily rank tracking, competitor tracking, the Growth plan, the listing editor and its store policy check, screenshot reviews and the free tools all work from public App Store and Google Play data. Connecting adds your private numbers, so every change gets a measured result.
Which App Store Connect key should I use?
Apple only lets an Admin key switch on its analytics reports, and that's needed once. After that, Settings shows you how to swap it for a key with the Sales and Reports role, which keeps downloads, revenue, impressions and page views updating. That narrower key can't read your private keyword field or post review replies, so keep an Admin key if you use those. Either way, you can revoke the key in App Store Connect at any time.
How are keys protected?
Each key is encrypted with its own randomly generated key (AES-256-GCM), which is itself encrypted with a master key kept separately from the database. A key is decrypted only in memory, at the moment AppGrowly calls Apple or Google with it. Keys are never written to logs and never shown again after you add them, not even to you.
What happens when I disconnect?
The stored key is deleted straight away, not archived. Data already imported (your daily numbers and reports) stays in your workspace; deleting your account removes it. Revoke the key in App Store Connect, Play Console or Apple Ads too, so it can't be used anywhere.
Can other customers see my data?
No. Public store data (rankings, listings, reviews) is collected once and shared, like on the stores themselves. Your private numbers, your keyword field and anything from your connections are only ever shown inside your own workspace.
Who at AppGrowly can see it?
AppGrowly is run by Movil Softwares Inc.. Only the founder has access to the servers. We look at an account's data only to fix a problem or answer a support request you send, and never to sell it or share it.
What does the AI see?
Some features send your listing text, keywords, reviews, Apple Ads findings or screenshot images to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), to write suggestions and explanations. Your data isn't used to train models. The numbers in reports are always calculated by AppGrowly, never written by AI.
Where is my data stored?
On AppGrowly's own server in Canada, with daily backups kept for 14 days. Every connection to AppGrowly is encrypted (HTTPS). Card payments are handled entirely by Paddle, our reseller; AppGrowly never sees card numbers.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Your account → Delete account removes your account and every workspace you're the only member of, with all its data, immediately. Backups roll over within 14 days. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Found a security problem?
Please tell us through the contact form or at [email protected]. We'll reply within one business day and fix confirmed issues as a priority.
Research, rankings, competitors and the Growth plan work from public store data. Connect later, when you're ready.
